Rugged and raw landscapes from across Canada continue to inspire Rod Charlesworth, a Canada House Gallery artist for over 30 years. Working with oil on canvas utilizing his hands, fingers, brush and palette knife Charlesworth’s pieces are rich, vibrant and luscious.
“My approach to oil painting has usually been a very direct, wet on wet technique, that in the end creates a varied textural surface, small abstractions that eventually will tie the composition together. I love to see people walk up close to the piece and view the smaller components.”
