| Growing up in a railway station was always an exciting place to be for a child. Our CN station was the most exciting place in town, with trains coming, people sending and receiving goods, produce and telegrams. One of the events we kids really enjoyed was when the draymen would come with his flatbed wagon and a team of horses to pick up the freight for delivery. My friends and I would often be taking shots with hockey sticks and we would take a break to watch George Vallière back his horses up to the platform, clucking and swearing at Mabel and Walleye. |
