| Scraping the ice after a snowfall was always a big job. Usually two or three of the more enthusiastic kids would arrive early, then more would come and finally start shoveling. What I remember was the quite hush and the incredible beauty of such a morning. It truly was a magical experience, made even more meaningful as we looked forward to playing on the gleaming ice. |
